
Camping is currently available at the following sites next to the Medway:
The Hop Farm: (5 stars) Located here. New for 2009, The Hop Farm is a very large campsite with all facilities including toilets, showers, washng up facilities, campsite shop, and pub. The site is easily accessed from the Medway if you are paddling the canoe trail or is the perfect location to act as a base to explore the Medway from. Always advisable to book in advance and please mention that you are canoeing so that they can allocate you a spot nearer to the river. Stoneham Lock: (1 star) Located here. This is a "rough it" campsite. There are no facilities here, just ground next to the disused lock. Grid Ref is TQ681 489. Camping is free.
Marlin Canoe Club Camp site: (3 stars) Located here. This is a lovely site just downstream of Yalding Bridge. There is a landing stage here and steps up to the ground. To use this site you must book ahead. Click here for the contact details and some photos of the site. Grid Ref: TQ 691 499. Note that during winter there are no toilet/shower facilities on site. Environment Agency toliet and shower block should be available by May 2010. Please check with the Marlin site coordinator.
Barming Bridge: (4 stars) Located here. This is a more organised campsite with facilities run by Mr Taylor. Please phone for costs 01622 720263 or 07788 890569. The ground is located right bank (looking downstream) and just upstream of Barming bridge. Grid ref: TQ720 538
Allington Lock: (5 stars) Located here. Nice piece of flat ground adjacent to Allington Lock itself (pictured above). Toilets, showers, and kitchen sink for your washing up! £10 per tent per night. grid ref: TQ746 582. Book in advance by phoning the lock
